Bose systems are usually designed to be compatible with Samsung TVs. This means that you can connect your Bose system to your Samsung TV, whether old or new.

Connecting your Bose system to your new TV helps improve the TV’s sound quality, especially if you are not satisfied with the quality. Also, it does not matter if the system is new or old; they work just the same.

In addition, the connection can be made using different means. This article will be reviewing how you can connect your old Bose system to your TV.

Ways to Connect Old Bose System to New TV

There are numerous ways by which you can connect your old Bose system to a new TV. They include;

Cable Connection

Before you connect the old Bose system to your TV physically, you need to check the port on the system and find a suitable cable for it. Depending on the type of port you want to make the connection from, you can use either of the three cables described below;

1. HDMI cables

HDMI CABLES

HDMI are cheap cables that provide the best sound quality and are sources of digital links between your old Bose system and the new TV. To make the connection with this cable, take the following steps;

  • Turn off the old Bose system and your new TV.
  • Connect the cable to the suitable socket on the TV
  • Connect the other end to the output channel of the system
  • Switch on the soundbar and your TV
  • Click on the source option from the displayed page on the TV screen
  • Select function
  • Then click on the HDMI option

2. Optical cables

OPTICAL CABLES

Optical cables provide high sound quality like HDMI cables and are up to standard and easy to use.  Take the following steps to connect your old Bose system to your new TV;

  • Turn off both devices (system and TV)
  • Fix one end of the cable to the optical output port of the TV
  • Connect the other end to the digital output port of the old Bose system
  • Turn on the soundbar and TV
  • Select the source option
  • Click on D.NI
  • Audio settings will be displayed on the screen of the new TV
  • Select external speaker under speaker output.

3. Auxiliary cables

AUXILIARY CABLE

Auxiliary cables are the easiest and most common cables used in connecting speakers. However, unlike the first 2, the sound quality is shallow. You can connect your old Bose system to your new TV using these cables by taking the steps below;

  • Like in the first two, turn off the devices.
  • Connect one end of the cable to the auxiliary input port of the old Bose system
  • Connect the other end to the TV’s audio output port
  • Turn on the devices
  • Using the system’s remote, select the source option
  • Then click on AUX

Wireless Connection

If you find wire connections stressful, you can connect your old Bose system to your new TV using the Bluetooth connection. It is easy to do and is an excellent option for transient connections.

Although it also provides a lesser sound quality like the auxiliary cables, it still allows for multiple connections to the old Bose system at once.

To connect your old Bose system to your new TV using the wireless connection, do the following;

  • Use the Bose system’s remote to press the pairing button or press it directly from the speaker.
  • Turn on the TV
  • Click on the sources option from the menu tab displayed on your TV screen.
  • Select Connection Guide options
  • A list of the available Bluetooth devices will then be displayed
  • Then click on Bose Speaker

Ensure you make the proper selection since options will be made available from nearby Bluetooth devices.

Conclusion

Bose systems are designed to be compatible with Samsung TV sets. You can connect your old Bose system to your new Samsung TV using either a physical connection (connection cables and ports) or a wireless connection (using Bluetooth).

Also, it is advisable to get a suitable cable for the system’s port for the connection to be successful. Remember that the choice of cable affects the sound quality of the TV and for you to optimize the system’s efficiency, you need to ensure that the connection between your old Bose system and your new TV is correctly made.

  2. Hello, I have a Bose Cinemate 120 connected via 4k HDMI to the eArc port on a Samsung Q70A tv (2021 model). All devices pass through the Bose Cinemate 120 console (TV, Sat/Cable, Game). The sound bar works perfectly when watching TV but I can no longer switch to “GAME” mode in order to use the game console (PlayStation 4). When attempting to do so, I get “No Signal” and the audio goes in and out. I never had this problem with my previous tv. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I have a Bose sound bar VCS-10, and I want to connect it to a Samsung 55NU6950, and want to connect them.

    Who has any suggestions for me?
    I appreciate all your input.

    Thanks

  4. I have two 1984 Bose 101 speaker that have the speaker wire type ports on the back. No plug-in type. Would I have to connect the LG Smart TV by aux line from the TV to a receiver, then plug my speakers into the receiver? Or is there any other configuration? The speakers do not have an amp built in, hence the receiver question.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dale
