What is HD PVR?

The HD PVR is the world’s first High Definition video recorder, capable of recording in real-time at resolutions up to 1080i in H.264 compressed format. The HD-PVR captures component video (YCrCb) from video game consoles, cable TV, and satellite set-top boxes with a built-in IR blaster to automatically change TV channels for planned recordings.

Two-channel stereo audio or optical audio with five channels Dolby Digital are used to record the sounds.

AVCHD is the recording format, and it can be used to create Blu-ray discs. For playback on a Blu-ray disc player, two hours of HD recordings at 5 Mbits/sec can be burned onto a regular 4.7 GByte DVD-R or DVD-RW disc. On your PC, you can record your Xbox 360 or PS3 gameplay in 1080i HD! Share your favorite games in high definition with your friends.

What is HD PVR Used for?

Video gameplay recording is one of the most common uses for the HD PVR. As said by one of the users of the HD PVR. “Now I believe that watching me play video games will put anyone to sleep–or at the very least make them chuckle at my performance.” However, I know that a significant percentage of video gamers use the HD-PVR to record their gaming.

The video pass-through feature of HD PVR provides high-definition video recordings while also providing zero latency on your TV monitor! Video pass-through uses the component video input and output to record your gameplay in HD while still allowing you to play it on your TV.

The “Connector diagrams” button above will take you to our Pass-Through recording diagram. The incredible recording quality of the HD PVR allows you to save your favorite TV shows for future viewing.

Record your favorite TV shows in high definition, then burn them to a regular DVD disc in high definition Blu-ray format (up to two hours).

Then, in a Blu-ray player, play these discs. Note that high-definition HD PVR recordings are not compatible with DVD players. Any component video-equipped HD set-top box can be connected to the HD PVR.

Optical audio input and two-channel stereo are included for the greatest sound quality. S-Video and composite video inputs are also available on the HD PVR. HD PVR support in Windows Media Center is now available (a beta test version is already available).

In Windows 7 Media Center, you can use HD PVR as a video recorder.

In Windows 7 Media Center, you can also watch and record premium cable and satellite television and create HD TV recordings using the efficient and high-quality H.264 format.

HD PVR 2 records video from a DVR, satellite, or cable TV set-top box or video game console in up to 1080p. The HD PVR 2 can record from HDMI (without HDCP), Component video (red/green/blue connectors on the back of your cable/satellite box), or composite video (the yellow connector on the back of your cable/satellite box) sources.

You can use a DVR to record TV shows and free up space on the DVR for more recordings by doing so. Please make a list of your favorite television shows and add them to your library.

Alternatively, schedule TV recordings straight from a cable or satellite set-top box using the bundled WinTV v10 application.

Audio and video quality in HD are excellent.

What is HD PVR 2?

HD PVR 2

The HD PVR 2 is a PVR that has a studio-quality video encoder and can record in 1080P30 definition. Blu-ray discs use the H.264 format, which outperforms existing video compression standards in terms of image quality and disk space usage, resulting in a sharp image and incredible digital sound.

Compared to the standard MPEG-2 codec, H.264 uses 1/3 the disk capacity. With the S/PDIF optical audio input on the HD PVR 2 model 1512, your audio will be just as good as the video. Your recordings will feature 5.1 channel AC-3 audio if you have 5.1 channel AC3 audio from HDMI or optical S/PDIF!

Create your own HD movie collection using cable or satellite television. With the HD PVR 2 model 1512 in full HD, you can get rid of your cable or satellite DVR box. Make a collection of your favorite high-definition television shows.

Both HDMI and Component video are supported by the HD PVR 2 model 1512. This is because the boxes sometimes (but not always) incorporate HDCP copy protection on the HDMI wire, your cable or satellite TV box should have Component video out for best results. Component video, on the other hand, is never copy protected.

Look for Red/Green/Blue connectors on the rear of your cable box to determine if it contains component video connectors. ‘YPrPb’ is a common designation. This is an example of a standard set-top box with component video ports.

The component video cables are in slots 6 and 8, respectively, as are the Left/Right audio connectors—record HD versions of your favorite cable or satellite TV shows.

Control the channel shifting on your set-top box with the bundled IR blaster. Connect HD PVR to your satellite or cable TV set-top box (supplied) using HD component cables. HD PVR can change the channel on the set-top box and record the selected program using the TV scheduler and IR blaster.

The TV Scheduler makes it simple to plan your TV recordings. Create a weekly or once-only recording plan, and HD PVR will record them for you! Schedule your favorite movie, sporting event, or show, and let HD PVR 2 handle the rest.

In addition, you can record your video gameplay in high definition. Share with your friends by uploading to YouTube! Also, don’t forget to stream your videos. Without slowing down your PC, capture your best gaming movements. Because the video compression is done inside HD PVR 2, you may record your PC gameplay in HD without slowing down your computer.

The Game-play on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Wii U can also be recorded. Plus, thanks to HD PVR 2’s HD video pass-through, you can record and watch your gameplay in real-time! HD PVR 2 records videos in a format that’s ideal for sharing on social media sites like YouTube.

Application for your logo in your recordings or video streams, the HD PVR 2 and Colossus 2 Logo Inserter inserts a graphic. This is done automatically, with your logo being applied to your movies and streams. An on-screen logo is known as a ‘digital on-screen graphic’ or ‘TV bug’ in the television industry, and it can frequently be seen in the lower right corner of news shows.
