Logging out of Netflix is straightforward if you follow the proper steps. However, the process is not the same for all TV brands, and it even differed with models of the same brand.  This article will be recommending ways to log out Netflix on different TV Brands.

How to Logout Netflix on Different TV

There are different reasons why you may need to log out of your Netflix account. Nonetheless, if you watch or stream Netflix on your TV, you can log out of the channel from your TV. The following are the TV brands  alongside their various models (if specified) we will be looking at;

  • Samsung TV
  • Roku TV
  • Vizio TV
  • LG TV
  • Sony TV
  • Sharp TV
  • TCL TV

How to Logout Netflix on Samsung TV

To log out of Netflix on your Samsung TV, take the following steps;

  • Start from your Netflix home screen
  • Scroll to the left using your remote and select Get Help or scroll up and select Settings or a Settings icon (if Get Help isn’t available)
  • Select Sign out
  • Select Yes to confirm the action.

This step is the most common way to log out of Netflix on TV and is not unique to Samsung TVs alone.

How to Logout Netflix on Roku TV

The process of logging out of Netflix on Roku varies by model. Below is how to log out of Netflix on different Roku TV models:

How to Logout Netflix on Roku 1

Roku 1 is no longer available for sale but if you have it, take the steps listed below)

  • Press the Home button on your remote to navigate to the Roku home menu
  • Select Settings
  • Click on Netflix
  • Choose to Deactivate this player from my Netflix account
  • Select Yes to confirm the deactivation (this isn’t going to deactivate your Netflix but will only log you out)

How to Logout Netflix on Roku 2 (HD, XD or XS) and Roku LT

  • Same as step 1 for Roku 1 models
  • Highlight the Netflix app and press the star key on your remote
  • Select Remove Channel
  • Confirm the step by selecting the option again, and you will be logged out of your Netflix account.
  • This will also remove the Netflix channel from the main menu of your Roku 2 or Roku LT TV.

For other Roku models not mentioned above, you can log out of Netflix by following the same steps as logging out of Netflix on Samsung TV.

How to Logout Netflix on Vizio TV

There are two ways by which you can log out of Netflix on Vizio TV.

  1. Using a remote if your TV came with one: the steps are the same as logging out of Netflix on Samsung TV.
  2. Using a tablet if your TV came with one;
  • Launch the Netflix app on your tablet
  • Select the Menu icon (it can either appear as a box containing three parallel lines in the upper left corner of the screen or as the dots arranged vertically in the upper right corner of the screen)
  • Select Sign out
  • Confirm that you would like to sign out.

How to Logout Netflix on LG TV

If you want to log out of Netflix on your LG TV, you will begin from the Home screen using your remote and select the option that best describes your device and follow the applicable steps;

If your screen is showing the Premium option;

  • Select Premium apps
  • Click on Settings
  • Select Options (to do this, you may need to press the green button on the remote twice)
  • Select Netflix Deactivate
  • Confirm the action

If your screen is showing the Netcast option;

  • Select Netcast
  • Select the Setup option
  • Select Service Maintenance
  • Select Netflix Deactivate
  • Select Yes to confirm the deactivation.

If the Service Maintenance option isn’t available, take the steps described below.

If your screen is showing the Setup option;

  • Select Setup
  • Select Network
  • Select Netflix Deactivate
  • Confirm the action by selecting Yes.

If none of the options listed for LG TV is shown on your screen, take the steps described for logging out of Netflix on Samsung TV.

How to Logout Netflix on Sony TV

You can log out of Netflix on your Sony TV in two different ways depending on the model of your TV.

If you have the Sony Google TV;

  • Go to the Google TV Home screen by pressing the home key
  • Select All apps
  • Select Settings or the Settings icon
  • Select Applications
  • Select Manage Applications
  • Using the arrows on your remote, scroll across till you see the  Netflix app.
  • Select Clear Data, and you will be logged out of your Netflix account.

If you are using other models of Sony TV, follow the procedure for logging out of Netflix on Samsung TV.

How to Logout Netflix on Sharp TV

If you are using a Sharp Smart TV or Sharp Roku TV, you can log out of Netflix by following the steps listed for logging out of Netflix on Samsung TV.

How to Logout Netflix on TCL TV

When you want to log out of Netflix on your TCL TV, you can log out through Netflix taking the same steps as when you log out of Netflix on Samsung TV.

If you are using a TCL Roku TV

  • Begin from the Netflix home screen on your TV
  • Press the back button on your remote
  • Select the gear icon located on the right side of the screen.
  • Select sign out
  • Confirm the action by selecting Yes.

Alternative Method

If all of the steps listed above don’t work or do not apply to your TV, then take these steps below:

  • From your Netflix app, use the arrows on your remote to enter this sequence
  • Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up
  • A Signout or Start over or Deactivate or Reset option will appear on your screen
  • Select the option that best applies.

Remember that “deactivation” in these TV brands won’t deactivate your Netflix account; it will simply log you out. You can easily restore, reactivate or log in to your Netflix account afterwards.
