How to Fix Owlet Wi-Fi Problem

Owlet wifi fix

There are different ways of rectifying a WI-FI problem with Owlet devices. Try out these DIY solutions to get the Wi-Fi connection back on your Owlet device:

Use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Network

Make sure that you choose the 2.4GHz band for your wireless network. If your Owlet camera continually loses connection to your Wi-Fi network, your Wi-Fi network cannot function with the camera.

The 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band is the network compatible with the Owlet camera. Therefore, if your existing Wi-Fi network is not using the 2.4GHz band, your Owlet camera will not be able to connect to it.

You should set your router to use the 2.4GHz band exclusively. This ensures that your Owlet Camera has a reliable and robust connection to your Wi-Fi network. The following is a list of the procedures that you should take to move your Wi-Fi connection to a 2.4GHz band:

  • In your web browser, enter the IP address assigned to your router. Doing this will take you to the router’s web page.
  • You will receive a prompt to provide a password and a username when you access the system. You will see the password for the web page of your router at the back of the router.
  • Select the Menu tab, and choose Wireless Network Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.
  • Under Wireless Network Settings, select Wireless Channel.
  • Look for the tab on your router with a list of the available Wi-Fi networks.
  • Select the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Network option from the drop-down menu.
  • To apply the changes, tap the Save button.

Inspect Camera’s Firmware

It is essential that you inspect the camera’s firmware. The firmware on the camera must have the most recent version. On the application screen, an orange bar will appear whenever an update is available. If Wi-Fi is disabled, this firmware version might not be accurate, especially if there was a recent upgrade. Upgrade your camera’s firmware to rule out its possibility of affecting the Wi-Fi connection.

Restart Your Router

Restarting your router is another solution if Owlet won’t connect to Wi-Fi. Doing so will revive your Wi-Fi connection, and any errors preventing a WI-FI connection will be resolved. To restart your router, unplug it from the energy source. After about a few seconds, you should plug it back into the power supply source.

If it is possible to restart directly from the router, you should press and hold the restart button for a few seconds. The next step is reconnecting your Owlet camera, after which you should check to see if the issue persists.

Reset to Default Setting

Resetting the device to default settings might be your best bet to restore Owlet’s Wi-Fi connection. You can try resetting the base station to factory settings by pressing both buttons on the bottom of the base station.

Hold the button down till you hear a chirp. After that, ensure that the sock has been removed from the application, and then force close the application. Then make another attempt at connecting the base station. Doing this will remove all Wi-Fi connections in the base stations’ memories. It will enable a fresh start.

Force close Owlet App

To fix the issue of your Owlet camera not connecting to the Wi-Fi network, you might have to force close the Owlet app. After you have done this, restart the application to reset its connection. When you force close an app, the app will be closed fully on your device.

When you close the Owlet app on your phone, usually, the app does not quit running entirely. It continues running in the background. Force-closing an app will result in the deletion of all background data. In addition, each time you launch the application, it loads from scratch, which can assist in correcting some errors. This is the case the majority of the time.

Summarily, Owlet devices are convenient for tracking babies’ health. With the wireless device connected to a robust Wi-Fi in their home, you can stop stressing out about your infant’s health. Following our guide will help to fix any connection problem you might encounter when using the product.
