Arrrrghhh! Why do they make the power button on Vizio TV so hard to find?
You just got a new Vizio TV and you’re excited. You’re exploring all the different components of the TV and you want to test the TV power button. It’s also possible that you’ve owned a Vizio tv for was while but never even tried to find the Vizio power button until you lost your remote.
You search for a few seconds and say to yourself that it’s just going to take a minute to find. 10 minutes later, after getting friends or family members to search alongside, you’re still searching…
Lost Your Vizio TV Remote? Consider getting a universal TV. It allows you to control multiple devices in your home.
Modern TV power buttons are hidden, so cleverly hidden that you could miss them entirely and the Vizio TV isn’t any different. We know your patience is wearing thin so we’ll get right to it!
The Vizio TV power button is located at the backside of your TV. Not just anywhere on the backside TV but just below the HDMI and cable outlet.
The buttons are so blended with the rest of the back bezel that you might either miss it or confuse it for something else.
Press and hold the power button (located at the center) for at least three seconds, and TV will turn on or off.
Vizio televisions will typically have the power buttons on the back of the TV, in the bottom right or left corners.
It is quite typical to find the volume, channel, and input buttons alongside the power button.
The reasons Vizio hides these buttons are for aesthetics, minimalism, and to reduce the use of these buttons for navigating menus. This is typical not just of Vizio but of several other smart Tvs. This of course doesn’t mean that you can’t use these buttons for navigational purposes when push comes to shove.
If you’re searching for ways to turn on your Vizio TV without a remote, you could also try turning on your television through the Vizio SmartCast app for iOS and Android.
