How to Reset Your Roku PIN

A Roku PIN (aka personal identification number) is a numeric code that Roku users can create to securely manage payments, subscriptions, and other Roku services. It usually has four digits. It’s pretty easy to reset your Roku PIN, and you don’t even need to use your former PIN to do so. This piece will show you how you can reset your Roku PIN.

How do I reset my Roku PIN?

1. Open up your internet browser, navigate to Roku’s website (my.roku.com), fill in your login details if required.

2. After logging in, go to the PIN preferences area and choose “Update.”

3. Next, enter and validate your chosen PIN. Ensure that the data in both fields are the same.

4. If you want to make more changes to your account settings, you can use your PIN for purchases and Parental controls.

5. To save all you have made, click on “Save changes.”

How to use Roku PIN for purchasing and adding content

If you want to use your Roku PIN for making purchases and adding new content, you have first to create, update or reset it on the Roku website. You have three choices, and they include:

1. To make purchases and add things to your cart from the Channel Store, you’ll need a PIN

To make a purchase using your Roku account’s saved payment information, you must enter your PIN. Installing a streaming channel will also require you to input the PIN.

2. Making a purchase requires entering a PIN every time

It is still necessary to provide a PIN before making a purchase.

3. Any purchase or addition from the Channel Store does not necessitate the use of a PIN

Purchases and content installation are no longer protected by a PIN when this option is selected. If you’re not the only one who has access to the Roku player, this option puts you open to unexpected purchases.
