Having your dish receiver stuck in the startup process can be one of the most frustrating things to deal with. Not only do you not get to watch your favorites shows but also have no idea where the problem might be.
So, in case your disk receiver is stuck on startup know that you are not the only one it happens to. This is a very common problem that many dish users faces and today we have come up with some result-driven solutions for you.
So, without any further ado, let us dive right in.
What to do if Dish Receiver Stuck is on Starting Up
1. Ventilation is the key
This may sound like a bad joke. But ventilation is very important for your receiver. It is so important that it should be the first thing that you should check. Your dish receiver always needs proper ventilation to function properly.
Overheating is the number one enemy of your dish receiver. Never keep the receiver in an enclosed space. So, keep it in a ventilated spot and try turning it on to see if it made any changes.
2. Unplug and plug-in
Sometimes the simplest solution can be the most effective one. Many times, there can be a build-up of the capacitive charge on your dish receiver IC. As a result, there might be some sort of malfunction on the inside.
So, make sure to unplug the device and let it discharge ad then plug it back in again.
3. Check your WAN connection
Dish stuck on stuck on starting up might be a result of a problem with the Wide Area Network (WAN) or the wireless connection that is connected directly. So, make sure that the “WJAP (wireless joey access point) is connected to an Ethernet port on the Hopper3” directly.
If you do not want to go into a much complex task and have the liberty to wait it out, then there is good news for you. In most cases, the Dish receiver autoboots or updates once every 72 hours.
That means if there is any sort of minor technical issue that might be causing the problem, it might just go away after the time. So, you can just wait out a few hours and see if it is resolved by itself.
5. Reset the device
If proper ventilation or unplugging and plugging in does not work, then try to reset the button on your device.
Depending on the model, the reset button could be on both the top left or top right of your dish receiver. Press or press and hold for 3 seconds until the device reboots.
6. Contact Support
In case none of the abovementioned fixes works, it is time to get a new dish receiver or get help from the expert. Call your manufacturing company or trusted tech support to get additional help.
