Method 1

Please take a careful look at these steps and follow them:

  1. Insert a 3’4 putty knife all around the seam of your remote.
  2. Please, twist around as gently as possible until you have successfully opened your remote.

Method 2

If your remote has an indent that runs down the back of the TV:

  • Pull down carefully on the top half and bottom half of your remote.

Method 3 is for the Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Cube, and they come with a 2nd generation Alexa voice remote. Look out for a dedicated power button, a mute button, and vertically aligned batteries to identify this remote.

  • Look out for the small indent that runs at the back of the remote.
  • Hold the remote vertically so that the top part faces your body.
  • Use both your thumbs and apply a reasonable amount of pressure upwards.
