- This will redirect you to a search page – Search for Developers Options
- Toggle the Apps from the Unknown Sources tab to enable it.

NOTE: It’s possible that your Spectrum account isn’t coded for IP streaming-only yet; in which case, you’d be unable to bypass the Spectrum cable box using other streaming devices. You would have to call Spectrum and ask if your account is currently set to streaming only. Once confirmed, you can return the cable box if you already have it and bypass the cable box.
Bypassing Spectrum Cable Box Using A Digital TV Antenna
A digital antenna allows you to watch most local channels for free. However, if you live in a remote area or places with skyscrapers, there are unique antennas you’ll have to buy to get signals. If you live in a large city, any antenna will do.
Although using a cable box is convenient, it can be pretty expensive. Most cable boxes, such as Spectrum, have other hidden fees that you might not easily detect. If you want to save some money, you can get a digital antenna.
Digital antennas allow you to watch most local channels for free. Ensure to get an antenna that matches your TV brand. Then place and set the TV antenna correctly to get all channels.

I spoke with spectrum today, and they told me they contracted with Roku, and the Firestick or firetv isn’t supported, and cannot be used.

HOWEVER, this week the Spectrum App on Roku says “Call to Upgrade” because my current subscription doesn’t include this title of “Resident Alien” (previous episode).

What is up? I have both cable and internet service with Spectrum, I can view the SyFy channel through the old cable way, but not through the newer wifi streaming way without Upgrading…what is this all about? Seems like they have messed up my authorization over cloud to stream that channel. Note: I am able to stream other channels just fine including the SCI channel, which i dont get in my regular basic channel lineup. I have always had the SYFY channel in my basic channel lineup, it that helps in anyway.
This is not entirely true. You cannot stream all your channels unless you are actually on spectrum internet. How do I know?
I pay for spectrum cable TV through my HOA. That subscription includes over 120 channels. Everything works fine as long as I’m using the cable box. As soon as I try to use the spectrum app on my Apple TV or the Roku I get a notice saying that most of the channels are only accessible unless I’m on spectrum internet. Just another way of spectrum forcing people to use their service. Basically those of us in our housing area that choose to stream instead of use the old fashioned cable box are being forced to subscribe to spectrum internet as well as spectrum cable. Essentially we’re not getting what we pay for. I can assure you though as a member of the board that will decide who gets our next contract spectrum will change this practice or they’ll lose that contract.
